Dolphins Carry Their First Win Home to Face the Patriots on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium
Miami (1-5) hosts New England (4-3) on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS, a week after the Dolphins earned their first win of the season, 28-25 over the Jets. The Patriots arrive looking for a third straight win over Miami and a 3-0 start in the AFC East.
The Miami Dolphins come home on Sunday with something they have not had all season: a win to build on. Miami (1-5) hosts the New England Patriots (4-3) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, with kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS, in the first of the teams' two meetings this season, according to the Patriots' official game preview.
Miami earned its first victory last Sunday, 28-25 on the road against the New York Jets, in coach Jeff Hafley's first win, NBC Sports reported. Quarterback Malik Willis was the catalyst, completing 14 of 21 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns to rookie Caleb Douglas, and the Dolphins sealed it with a late fourth-and-one conversion that kept the Jets from getting a final possession.
New England is the sterner test. The Patriots average 22.9 points per game against Miami's 16.3, are looking to win their third straight game over the Dolphins and to go 3-0 in the AFC East, and won the teams' most recent meeting 38-10 on Jan. 4 to complete a season sweep of the 2025 series, according to the published previews. For Palm Beach County's large Dolphins fan base, Sunday answers a simple question: whether the formula that finally worked in New York — ball control and a committed running game — can travel home against a division opponent with a winning record.
