November in Palm Beach County: King Tides at Thanksgiving, Veterans Day Ceremonies and Zoo Lights

November is the month Palm Beach County shifts into season, and a county Thanksgiving guide read in full by this desk lays out the dates to plan around. The City of West Palm Beach's 2026 forecast lists a king tide window from November 22 through 29, with November 24 through 27 — Tuesday through Friday of Thanksgiving week — flagged within three inches of flood stage. The guide's advice for that week is the city's standing advice: do not drive through flooded streets and do not park on a low street near the Intracoastal.

Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11. The guide confirms two county ceremonies that day: Delray Beach holds its Veterans Day Ceremony at 9 a.m. in the Vintage Gym at Old School Square, and Boca Raton holds Red, White and Boca from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, free, with speakers, live music and a classic car show. West Palm Beach had not posted a 2026 Veterans Day program the guide could confirm, so city residents should check with the city directly rather than assume a time.

The holiday season starts before Thanksgiving. Palm Beach Zoo's Zoo Lights opens Friday, November 20 and runs every night through November 29 in its opening stretch, including Thanksgiving night. Saturday, November 21 stacks up: the 40th Delray Beach Turkey Trot 5K at Anchor Park in the morning, Manatee Lagoon's season kickoff in West Palm Beach from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the opening day of the Billie Jean King Cup playoff between the United States and Hungary at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. For homeowners, the guide adds a money date: Palm Beach County property tax bills are mailed by November 1, with a 4 percent discount for paying in November. Dates can change, so confirm with the organizer before you drive.
