Palm Beach County School Board Meets Wednesday, November 4: Inspector General's Annual Report and Four Policies Up for Adoption

The School Board's day-after-the-election session at the Fulton-Holland center stacks four consecutive meetings from 1:30 p.m. Wednesday — proclamations, expulsions, a workshop on the Inspector General's annual report, and second-read adoption votes on threat-assessment and student-progression policies.

Palm Beach County School Board Meets Wednesday, November 4: Inspector General's Annual Report and Four Policies Up for Adoption (West Palm Beach Watch News)

The School Board of Palm Beach County will hold a stacked session of four consecutive meetings on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Fulton-Holland Educational Service Center Board Room, according to the district's official public meeting announcement posted Oct. 29. The session opens at 1:30 p.m. with a Special Meeting for School Board Proclamations.

Immediately following the proclamations meeting, the board takes up a Special Meeting for Expulsions, and immediately after that, a Workshop on the Inspector General Annual Report, the district announcement says. A further Special Meeting including School Board Policies closes the sequence, with second-read adoption votes on four policies advertised on Oct. 5: Policy 5.1815, Threat Assessment and Management; Policy 5.1817, Severe Incident Assignment; Policy 5.27, Parental and Marital Status of Students; and Policy 8.01, Promotion, Placement, Graduation – Student Progression Plans. Because the meetings follow consecutively, the district notes that start times after the first are approximate and may begin earlier or later than posted.

Anyone who wants to speak must sign up in advance by calling the Board Office — the announcement lists 561-434-8136 among the sign-up numbers — and written public comment can be submitted by email to boardoffice@palmbeachschools.org. All board meetings are recorded in full and posted on the district's website within 24 hours, the announcement says. The Wednesday session lands the day after Election Day, when Palm Beach County voters decide the district's one-mill referendum renewal covered earlier in this cycle's election file.
