The Miami Heat opened their West Coast trip with a 138-117 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena, according to the Sportradar box score read this cycle, which showed the fourth-quarter clock at 0:00 with Los Angeles at 138 and Miami at 117. The Lakers outscored the Heat 27-24 in the fourth quarter to close it out.

The Lakers led 79-72 at halftime behind Luka Doncic, who paced the offense with a game-high 24 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds before the break, the Wire Report reported. Doncic's 24 at halftime made him the first Lakers player to score at least 20 points in the first half in five straight games since Kobe Bryant in 2007, the New York Post reported, and he entered Monday averaging a league-best 37.7 points per game.

For Miami, the loss came on the first stop of the road swing the Heat carried into Los Angeles on a two-game winning streak, after beating Atlanta and then Indiana by 20 in their NBA Cup opener in the reporting read earlier this cycle. The Heat's trip continues on the West Coast; the desk will file the next final within 45 minutes of that game's end.
