WEST PALM BEACH — A Coastal Flood Advisory from the National Weather Service in Miami remains in effect for Coastal Palm Beach County and Coastal Broward County until 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, with moderate coastal flooding expected during periods of high tide. The weather service expects flooding of lots, parks and roads, with only isolated road closures, and advises drivers to allow extra time, never drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth, and take action to protect flood-prone property.

The water stays dangerous after the advisory expires. Dangerous beach conditions come with a high rip current risk and large breaking waves of around 5 to 8 feet, and the High Rip Current Risk and High Surf Advisory run through at least Monday morning, the weather service said. The impacts include dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion; inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water, and anyone who swims should swim near a lifeguard — and if caught in a rip current, relax and float rather than swim against it.

On land, Sunday stood at 78.5 degrees under overcast skies in the mid-afternoon, with a feels-like temperature of 76.9, according to the station's live weather feed read at about 2:32 p.m. ET. Sunday's high is 80.8 with a low of 71, and the day's rain-shower code now carries a 76% precipitation chance. Monday stays wet under the same shower code — high 76.9, low 71.1, rain chance 74% — before Election Day on Tuesday, which carries a thunderstorm code at a 67% chance, a high of 81.4 and a low of 74.
