Dolphins Inactives vs. Patriots: Proctor, Wayne and Joly Out; Brents and Taylor Active for Miami (West Palm Beach Watch News)

MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins will be without seven players for Sunday's AFC East game against the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium, after the team announced its final inactive list ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS. Miami's inactives are wide receiver Jared Wayne, tight end Justin Joly, offensive linemen Kadyn Proctor and Christian Haynes, defensive end Jamree Kromah, and cornerbacks Jaylin Simpson and Marcellas Dial Jr., Dolphins Wire reported. Proctor, the rookie guard, is out in the concussion protocol, as the Sunday-morning injury report had him.

The morning's open questions broke Miami's way in the secondary. Cornerback JuJu Brents, who had been listed as questionable, has cleared concussion protocols and is active against the Patriots, and cornerback Reese Taylor is also active, the Palm Beach Post's live game file reported. Miami brought up placekicker Zane Gonzalez and defensive end Max Llewellyn from the practice squad for the second week in a row, giving the Dolphins 55 players on the game-day roster, of whom league rules allow 48 to be active, Dolphins Wire reported.

New England's inactive list carries its own returns and absences. Cornerback Carlton Davis is back in the Patriots' lineup after missing the last three games with a neck injury — he avoided the inactive list after being listed as questionable on Friday — and linebacker Christian Elliss is also in the lineup after a questionable tag, NBC Sports reported. The Patriots' inactives are quarterback Behren Morton, designated the emergency third quarterback, running back TreVeyon Henderson, wide receiver A.J. Brown, cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada, and safety Elliott Davison, Dolphins Wire reported. The Dolphins, 1-5, are trying to make it two wins in a row; the Patriots arrived at 4-3.
