Trump Hosts Jungle-Theme Halloween Gala at Mar-a-Lago, Then Rips Legal Ally's Reported $50 Million Pardon Payment
Between six tele-rallies and a round of golf on his 30th Mar-a-Lago stay this term, the president told reporters in Palm Beach he was 'feeling good' about Senate races — and that Alina Habba's reported $50 million was 'totally obnoxious and outrageous.'

PALM BEACH — An extravagant Halloween gala was sandwiched between political rallies and campaign speeches during President Donald Trump's 30th stay at Mar-a-Lago this term, the Palm Beach Post reported on Sunday, Nov. 1. The jungle-theme gala at the Palm Beach club kicked off its winter social season, with the ballroom decorated in emerald floodlights and leafy table centerpieces and attendees in cheetah-, leopard- and tiger-print dinner jackets and other safari costumes, according to videos and images the Post described.
Trump joined the party after six 30-minute scheduled tele-rallies ahead of Tuesday's Nov. 3 midterm elections and told reporters he was “feeling good” about Republican U.S. Senate candidates in Michigan, Alaska and Florida, where Republican incumbent Ashley Moody is at the top of the ballot, the Post reported. Wearing his branded dark blue suit, white shirt and red tie, he told reporters he chose to dress as “Donald Trump” for the party.
The president bristled, however, at the revelation that one of his former attorneys, Alina Habba, is reported to have pocketed $50 million after securing a pardon for a Venezuelan billionaire indicted in 2022 on bribery charges, the Post reported. Julio Herrera Velutini pleaded guilty to a campaign-finance violation in 2025 before Trump pardoned him. “It's one thing for a person to get paid legal fees or whatever. She's a lawyer,” Trump said, according to the Post. “I thought it was totally obnoxious and outrageous, and it's not acceptable.” Trump had begun his Halloween with a round of golf at Trump International Golf Club after arriving in the Palm Beaches on Oct. 30, and he departed Palm Beach on Sunday, Nov. 1 — the final day of early voting in Florida, with more than 5.1 million people having voted statewide, including 350,000 in Palm Beach County, the Post reported. Trump, who cast an in-person early ballot on Oct. 24, was scheduled to headline rallies in Kansas and Iowa before returning to Washington.
