West Palm Beach Weather Monday Evening: 76 Degrees and Overcast, a Flood Watch Through Tonight, and a Wet Election Day Before the Week Dries Out
The station's live feed reads 76.1 degrees with Monday's rain chance at 68 percent, the flood watch runs through tonight with another 1 to 3 inches possible - and Riviera Beach's 15-inch weekend is the number the county is still draining.

West Palm Beach closed Monday under the same gray sky it opened with. The station's live feed read 76.1 degrees and overcast on Monday afternoon, with the day's high at 80.2 and its rain chance at 68 percent - the back edge of a stalled frontal boundary that has been pumping rich tropical moisture into South Florida all weekend. South Florida remains under a flood watch through Monday night, the National Weather Service said, with an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain expected, up to 5 inches in some spots and 'very isolated peak amounts' up to 9 inches, and heavy rain may again result in street flooding and road closures in flood-prone areas.
The weekend's totals explain the standing water. Rainfall topped more than 15 inches in Riviera Beach in the 24 hours that ended at 8 a.m. Monday, according to the Weather Service, and there is a considerable amount of street flooding in Palm Beach County, especially in Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach, meteorologist Chris Fisher of NWS Miami said. Tuesday's voters walk through what is left of the pattern: the Weather Service puts Election Day rain chances at 60 to 70 percent in Palm Beach County, while the station's own live feed models Tuesday drier, at 27 percent, with a high of 80.9 - either way, an umbrella is the prudent precinct accessory, and Fisher's summary stands: 'We'll still be dealing with showers tomorrow, although it won't be nearly as bad.'
Behind the election, the pattern finally lets go. The upper-level support for the stalled boundary is expected to go away, the Post reported, and the station's feed agrees with the drying trend: Wednesday's rain chance at 27 percent in the feed (the Weather Service has Wednesday at about 40 to 50 percent), then 8 percent Thursday and 4 percent Friday, with highs holding in the low-to-mid 80s all week - Thursday 81.3, Friday 82.7 and the weekend climbing to 85 and 86. 'As the week continues, we continue to slowly dry out through the rest of the work week,' Fisher said.
