Trick-or-Treat Weather in Palm Beach County: Rain Chances Build Toward Halloween Evening (West Palm Beach Watch News)

Halloween runs warm in West Palm Beach before it runs wet. The station's live weather feed read 81.4 degrees late Saturday morning, feeling like 86, on the way to a high of 82.6 and a low of 76.2. For the evening hours, the Palm Beach Post, citing Sammy Hadi, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Miami, reported coastal showers are possible with a 70 to 80 percent chance of rain during the afternoon and evening on Saturday, Oct. 31, as a disturbance moves across the Gulf - though it likely will not rain all day, with the highest chances peaking later in the day.

The Post also reported a 30 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms on Halloween night, following a week of king tide flooding, strong winds and high waves that closed the Jupiter Civic Center and the Juno Beach Pier, delayed one cruise ship's return to the Port of Palm Beach and closed some beach access points in Jupiter and Juno Beach. Gusty winds along the coast on Saturday afternoon could bring a high risk of rip currents, with waves as high as 8 feet off the coast, the weather service said as published there.

The wet pattern continues past Halloween. The station's live feed puts Sunday, Nov. 1 - the day clocks fall back at 2 a.m. - at a high of 82.5 with a 65 percent chance of precipitation, and Monday at a high of 78.4 with rain at 65 percent, before the chance eases later in the week and Friday turns warmer at 86.3 degrees. Families heading out Saturday evening should check conditions before they go, as schedules can change with the weather.
