John Washington III Asks Who Gave Consent to Speak for Him and His Family

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, is questioning who gave government the right to speak for him and his family without their consent. In the statement at the center of his remarks, John Washington III wrote, 'WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SPEAK FOR ME AND MY FAMILY WITHOUT MY CONSENT?'
John Washington III pointed to the Declaration of Independence, noting that it says governments get their just powers from the consent of the governed. He asked when he gave his consent, when his family gave theirs, and who gave a small group of people the authority to speak for every American. He argued that if a group makes rules for themselves, that agreement speaks for that group, not for everyone else, and he compared the point to separate families with their own codes, saying one family cannot walk into another home and declare that everyone belongs to them.
John Washington III said being born under a government does not mean he personally agreed to every decision it makes, and he said his children and he have constitutional rights. He wrote that government must not confuse legal authority with unlimited control, and he called on those who claim to speak for him to show where he agreed, show how they are representing the people, and answer to the people whose lives they affect. 'THAT'S THE GROUND I'M STANDING ON,' he wrote.
