No School Tuesday in Palm Beach County: Election Day Is a Teacher Workday While the Polls Run 7 to 7 (West Palm Beach Watch News)

WEST PALM BEACH — Palm Beach County public school students have no school on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The School District of Palm Beach County's 2026-27 key dates calendar lists Election Day as a Secondary PDD / Elementary Duty Day — staff report for professional development and duty assignments while students stay home, a schedule the district sets in a county where many schools double as polling places.

For families, Tuesday's operative hours are the election's: polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Election Day every voter must vote at the polling place assigned to their precinct — not at any early voting site. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections lists the ways to confirm an assignment: the Voter Information Card, the sample ballot, the Precinct Finder at VotePalmBeach.gov, or a call to the elections office at (561) 656-6200.

One deadline travels with the school closure: a vote-by-mail ballot cannot be dropped off at an Election Day polling place. To count, it must be received by 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Supervisor of Elections Main Office, or by 5 p.m. at a branch office. Monday, Nov. 2, is a regular school day across the district — the separate Monday closure of John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres, half a mile from the Learjet crash site, is a crash-response closure only and does not extend to other campuses.
