NTSB Gives Its First Learjet Update at 1 P.M. in West Palm Beach; Bishop Dedicates All Souls' Day Mass to the Nine
The federal briefing is set for 1 p.m. Monday in West Palm Beach, the Diocese of Palm Beach prayed for the nine victims seven miles from the crash site — and GoFundMe says no verified fundraiser for the families exists yet.

The National Transportation Safety Board's investigation into Sunday's Learjet crash that killed nine people begins in earnest on Monday, with the board's first update set for 1 p.m. in West Palm Beach, the Palm Beach Post reported in its live file. The jet, bound from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas, crashed at Military Trail and Cresthaven Boulevard at about 12:50 p.m. Sunday, exploding into a fireball when it hit the ground; Gov. Ron DeSantis said it fell "like a missile" from the sky. A team of NTSB specialists was en route to the Greenacres crash site Monday to gather evidence, the Post reported, and as of 7:30 a.m. Monday authorities had not released the names of those who died; DeSantis said there had been no reports of anyone on the ground killed or injured by the debris.
Seven miles northwest of the crash site, Bishop Manuel de Jesus Rodríguez of the Diocese of Palm Beach dedicated an All Souls' Day Mass on Monday to the nine people who died, celebrating the Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, the Post reported. "As a community of faith, we mourn alongside those who are grieving and unite in prayer for all who have been affected," Rodriguez said in a prepared statement. "I am especially grateful to our firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel and all first responders for their courageous and selfless service during this difficult time."
One caution for anyone moved to give: talk of fundraisers for the victims' families spread quickly online, but GoFundMe spokesperson Chris Salvemini told the Post the platform had not yet received a verified fundraiser related to the crash as of 10 a.m. Monday. The desk is not naming any of the nine: identifications circulating from relatives have not been confirmed by officials, and names will publish here only when authorities release them.
