Palm Beach County High School Football: Glades Central Tops Pahokee in the Muck Bowl to Close Week 11 (West Palm Beach Watch News)

Glades Central beat Pahokee 27-14 in Belle Glade on Friday, Oct. 30, in the latest renewal of Palm Beach County's fiercest high school football rivalry, the Muck Bowl, the Palm Beach Post reported. Sophomore wide receiver Rashawn Nembhard was named Muck Bowl MVP after scoring on a 40-yard pass from quarterback Tawan Roux and a 90-yard kickoff return, and setting up a third Raiders touchdown with a 34-yard catch-and-run. The win, Glades Central's third straight in the series, moved the Raiders to 4-5 and gave them a 36-22 edge in the series; Pahokee fell to 5-4.

The Blue Devils trailed 24-7 entering the fourth quarter before their offense came to life, the Post reported, putting together a long touchdown drive and reaching the Glades Central 11 in the final minute before turning the ball over on downs. Glades Central coach Omar Haugabook, a former Glades Central quarterback who spent four years as an assistant at Pahokee, told the Post that coming home to win a third straight Muck Bowl was, in his words, unbelievable. Unlike most years, when the Muck Bowl closes the regular season, both teams still have makeup games Wednesday, Nov. 4, before the playoffs: Glades Central travels to Spanish River to complete a rain-interrupted game, and Pahokee hosts Melbourne Central Catholic.

Around the county on Friday, Oct. 30, the Post's Week 11 scoreboard reported: West Boca Raton 35, Atlantic 0; Carrollwood Day 28, Cardinal Newman 14; DeLand 44, Spanish River 13; Royal Palm Beach 33, Sebring 10; Park Vista 17, Dr. Joaquin Garcia 13; Glades Day 43, Boca Raton Christian 40; Forest Hill 43, John I. Leonard 8; Calvary Christian 36, American Heritage-Delray 32; Jupiter 29, South Fork 14; King's Academy 34, Space Coast 0; and Boca Raton 30, Seminole Ridge 12. On Thursday, Oct. 29, Palm Beach Lakes beat Suncoast 58-6, and Olympic Heights beat Boynton Beach 23-22.
