When Do Clocks Fall Back in 2026? Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday at 2 a.m. in West Palm Beach (West Palm Beach Watch News)

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, when clocks in West Palm Beach fall back one hour to 1 a.m. and standard time returns, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac and USA TODAY Network reporting read by this desk. Because Nov. 1 is the first Sunday in November this year, the change lands on the earliest date allowed under federal law, and the 1 a.m. hour happens twice.

For West Palm Beach, the first day on standard time brings an earlier sunrise and a much earlier sunset. Weather.com's West Palm Beach forecast lists Sunday sunrise at 6:30 a.m. EST and sunset at 5:37 p.m. EST. The extra hour falls on Halloween night, after trick-or-treating, and it does not change the last day of early voting: Palm Beach County early-voting sites are open Sunday, Nov. 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 28 locations, and a registered county voter may use any of them.

The clock change is still happening because Congress has not changed the law. The Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent, passed the House in July and has stalled in the Senate, according to the USA TODAY Network reporting. Unless federal law changes, daylight saving time returns on Sunday, March 14, 2027, when clocks spring forward one hour.
