John Washington III Says the Corrupt Political System Needs to Be Exposed, and Calls Gatekeeping Not Democracy (West Palm Beach Watch News)

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, said the corrupt political system needs to be exposed, in a public statement that questioned how candidates are chosen for public attention. He wrote: "Who decides who gets put in front of the cameras? Who gets the money, the endorsements, the publicity?"

John Washington III argued that independent voices are pushed out of that process while their ideas are taken. He wrote: "Why do independent voices get pushed out while their ideas get stolen? They won't stand behind us, but they'll hand our ideas to their chosen puppets on a string. That's not democracy, that's gatekeeping."

John Washington III called for change that he described in constitutional terms. He wrote that he is "calling for change, for peaceful, constitutional change, to build a new government that actually works for the people," and he cited the Declaration of Independence, as he presented it, for the proposition that when a government becomes destructive of the people's rights, the people can alter or abolish it. He closed: "Let's come together and build something that serves the people, not the powerful."
